Preparatory Course for LCCI Level 3 Certificate in Financial Accounting (IAS) / Cost and Management Accounting

Fees
Course fee: S$600 (inclusive of registration, course fee and materials fee) per subject

Examination 
Register for our class now in order to sit for the examination in April/June/November 2015. Candidates who wish to enroll for examination are required to pay a fee of $140 per subject.

Aims
The aims of this qualification are to enable candidates to develop:
-an understanding of the basic principles underlying the recording of business transactions
-the ability to prepare and interpret accounts for sole traders, partnerships, non-trading organisations, companies and groups of companies in accordance with basic accounting conventions and current accounting practice
-the ability to apply the principles of decision making

Target Audience
This qualification is suitable for candidates who work or wish to work in an advanced area of accountancy. 

All businesses require suitably skilled people who are able to prepare and maintain accurate accountancy records. In addition they must be able to produce regular accountancy statements and explain their meaning to management. There continues to be a demand for people who possess these skills. 

Candidates who attempt this qualification must have the knowledge and skills equivalent to the LCCI IQ Level 1 Certificate in Book-keeping and Level 2 Certificate in Book-keeping and Accounts qualifications.

Wednesday, from 7p.m. to 10.00p.m.

Award Criteria
Candidates must fulfill at least 75% course attendance requirements to sit for examinations. To obtain the certificate, students need to obtain at least a Pass grade in their examinations.

Pass : 50% - 59%
Pass with Merit : 60% - 74%
Pass with Distinction : 75% and above 


Syllabus for Level 3 Financial Accounting

Part-Time: 16 weeks (48 hours)
1. The purpose of maintaining financial records 
2. Recording financial transactions
3. Balancing accounts and the trial balance 
4. Adjustments and the extended trial balance
5. Produce financial statements of a sole trader and partnership
6. Introduction to interpretation of financial statements

Syllabus for Level 3 Cost and Management Accounting
Part-Time: 16 weeks (48 hours)
1. Inventory management
2. Short-term decision making
3. Accounting for overheads
4. Budgetary planning and control
5. Working capital management

6. Standard costing and variances
7. Costing methods
8. Long-term decision making
9. Management information systems
